Easter Vigil

Normally this would be the year that we would be celebrating the Easter Vigil at Grace Episcopal, with our sisters and brothers there.  This year we are socially distanced from that ecumenical community. However, one of my colleagues in Vermont, Pastor Michael John Longworth, of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, has prepared a Vigil to be shared by as many congregations in the New England Synod and beyond that wish to participate.  The link to the YouTube video of that Vigil is below.

This Vigil will have its “world premiere” on Saturday evening at 7:00 p.m. and lasts about an hour and a half.  Worshipers are encouraged to have a candle, a cup of water, and a noisemaker of any kind (bells, pot and pan, instrument, can of coins, etc.) with them as they worship so that they can participate fully in the service.  Since it is the “world premiere” of this worship service, I am looking forward to experiencing it for the first time with all who gather, from Emmanuel and beyond, for this video worship service.
